UnGarage Sale to be held Aug. 11 to give away clothing and household items

LIMA – Allen County Children Services will host its 16th annual Ungarage Sale on Aug. 11, at our agency to give away clothing and other donated items, first to agency families and then to the general public.

This is a great chance for families with little income to pick up clothing for their growing children. There will be some school uniforms available, as well. Items typically available include: clothing, dishes, Christmas decorations, artwork, toys and games, and much more.

There will not be large items such as furniture.

The event is popular in the community with families on a tight budget having the chance to pick up needed items at no cost.

Neighborhood Relief Ministries staff will be on hand to serve hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and a drink to anyone stopping by. The group also donates clothing to the UnGarage Sale. The Lima Public Library is helping to organize Community Resource bags with information on local service providers, that will be given out.

Western Ohio Community Action Partnership (WOCAP) will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to register children for Early Head Start. Parents need to bring the child’s birth certificate, parent’s identification card, child’s Social Security card, child’s INS card, records of recent physical/immunization, SNAP card, 12-month proof of income or if on SSI or TANF, the parent needs a copy of that information if the parent is on rent assistance or have a copy of the utility check. If a child is under foster care/kinship care, WOCAP needs proof of guardianship.
