Wear blue on Wednesday, April 10, to raise awareness for child abuse prevention
LIMA – The staff at Allen County Children Services (ACCS) is inviting the community to wear blue on Wednesday, April 10, to raise awareness for the prevention of child abuse.
Wear Blue Day is held during April’s National Child Abuse Prevention Month across the country. Wear Blue Day is one of the monthly activities at ACCS to raise awareness for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
We encourage everyone in our community to wear blue and take a photo of your group or yourself to send to our agency at greg.sowinski@JFS.Ohio.gov on April 10. We will post your photos on social media and encourage everyone to share the photos on social media.
We will choose three winners based on creativity to be announced April 24, on our agency’s Facebook page.
As part of April’s activities, Sara’s Sweets will make blue cupcakes April 10, by order only and Dunkin’ Donuts has blue donuts all month.
Together, with the community, we can work to reduce the number of children affected by abuse or neglect. Concerns of child abuse or neglect may be reported by calling 419-227-8590.
