Should we receive a report of suspected child abuse or neglect, Protective Services steps in to ensure the safety of the child
Most reports come to the ACCS through our 24-hour child abuse and neglect hotline. Typically, the report is done by a mandated reporter, such as a medical professional or teacher, or by a concerned relative or community member.
Once this happens, our goal is to verify what was stated in the report and determine if the child will be safe in their home. The following departments are how we ensure the children in Allen County are protected.
