Thanks to overwhelming support from the community donating a ton of clothing, household items and toys, the 2023 UnGarage Sale served a record 612 people. That included 398 children and 214 adults. The community gets the credit for the enormous amount of donations dropped off to make this possible. All items were free and many of the people who needed clothing and other items the most had a chance to get it. We also must thank Lima Police for grilling 340 hot dogs to pass out along with candy and a drink. Lastly, there is no way we could have pulled this off without the help of volunteers from Lima Baptist Temple. They came to our agency two days before the Aug. 3, event to organize a mountain of clothing, toys and household items and then returned for the UnGarage Sale to help people, to keep tables of clothing organized and to restock the tables. They did an incredible job. Thank you to the teens in our Independent Learning program who helped with the event especially carrying boxes and bags to cars all day.
